Openscotland
is a distinctive brand of the Scottish Executive which provides
the people of Scotland with better access to public services, improved
delivery of those services, and aims to ensure they have the skills,
access and awareness to enable use of computers and the web in their
daily lives.
OSIAF adopts (incorporates) the e-GIF, including the e-GIF Registry
components. Additional standards and policies for Scotland are detailed
in the OSIAF, notably the defining of Local OSIAF Co-ordinator and
OSIAF Technical Assurance Co-ordinator and OSIAF Project and Procedure
Guidance.
Information concerning the OSIAF standards adoption process and
the standards catalogue is at www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Government/Open-scotland/19913/Standards/StandardsIntro.
The Scottish Executive supports use of the e-GIF Compliance Assessment
Service by Scottish public sector organisations. Suppliers to the
public sector in Scotland can use e-GIF Compliance Assessment Service
reports to help demonstrate OSIAF compliance by describing that
their products comply with relevant e-GIF standards.
The Scottish Executive was also a founding sponsor of the e-GIF
Accreditation Authority. e-GIF accreditation differentiates organisations
- public and private - who have shown they have the processes in
place to deliver e-GIF compliant solutions.
